Criteria for Waist Circumference in Adults (Bray, G.A. 2004)
Waist = Smallest part of your stomach
Low Risk for women: 27.5-35 inches
Low Risk for men: 31.5-39 inches
And....GUYS....
According to Janssen et al., 2004:
For every 1-inch increase in waist circumference in men, the following health risks are associated:
Blood Pressure increases 10%
Cholesterol increases 8%
Triglycerides increase 18%
Metabolic Syndrome risk increases 18%
HDL decreases 15%
